I signed up for an account. Why is my account disabled when I log in?
Metromap does not have a subscription sign up page. Our platform can only be accessed via a trial account or a paid subscription. If you belong to a group that already has a subscription with us, kindly reach out to the group admin within your organisation or reach out to us via support@metromap.com.au so we can connect you to them.
How do I know the status of my subscription?
Users with admin privileges may login to https://metromap.com.au/account/login
By logging in to the link, admin users can navigate through various information such as current subscription details, past purchases and invoices that are linked to your account.
I want to update my billing details and I can’t find an option to do this. What do I do?
If you are using card payments and want to update your billing information, the best option is to reach out to support@metromap.com.au
Our team will then send you a secure hosted link where your details can be updated.
It is important to note that we will never ask for your credit card details in writing over email. We use a hosted link to ensure that none of us knows your full card details. The card details are stored in our compliant billing and payments system to protect your data.
Do you have video tutorials we can follow?
Tutorial videos can be found via this section: https://docs.metromap.com.au/docs/products-and-features
Why is the toggle boundary visibility not working?
The toggle boundary visibility button refers to the boundary showing our imagery coverage when zoomed out in the Mapviewer. This is only visible at high zoom levels. An example of this can be found in this section near the end of the video: https://docs.metromap.com.au/docs/base-map-layers
I downloaded an image in Metromap, but why is the data not aligning with my basemap?
In Metromap, we have two tools for downloading images: the Download Tool and the Clip-it! Tool. These tools let you download images in different map settings. To make sure the data lines up correctly with your basemap, you need to use the same map setting (projection) as your basemap. Double-check that the projection you chose for the download matches the one used by your basemap to ensure everything aligns properly.
Why does a WMS and WMTS in different projections align correctly to a project's CRS?
Many GIS software packages like QGIS provide a feature called on-the-fly reprojection (OTF).
For a WMS service, which is typically served dynamically, OTF can also dynamically reproject to match a specific project’s CRS.
For a WMTS service, which is tile-based, the tiles are pre-rendered in a fixed projection. Although WMTS supports various projections, GIS software may default to reading this as GDA2020 and automatically adjust the projection to the layer's CRS.
This is why, despite being in two different projections, a WMS in MGA94 and a WMTS in GDA2020 may align to the destination layer.
How is my data calculated?
Metromap Data usage is calculated based on the number of tiles available on the screen.
This can be affected by a variety of things such as your display screen size(which can cover more tiles), zoom levels, panning(moving side to side), downloading, using the clip-it tool(download of different projections), API tile loading, and cache refresh.
Admin users can also control the usage within their groups by applying limits to users.
Limits applied to users are all annual so if a notification is sent to the user, that is calculated based on when the group account started to date and compared against the limit applied to their account.
Data usage is not counted for changing the base layer from street view to satellite. A satellite view does not contain any data. We only count data where a high resolution image we have taken is available.
