While the default map view is set to MetroMap's high resolution aerial imagery, the platform allows you to access other base map views that can be useful, especially in remote places that do not have MetroMap imagery coverage. These base maps include a satellite view and roads (or streets) view, which can be switched via the “Background Layers” drop down in the Settings (Gear cog icon on the left panel).
MetroMap also allows you to access Google Street View, so that you can access this without having to jump out of the application to an external platform. Google Street View can be accessed by dragging and dropping the Street View Icon (red-coloured person icon at bottom right) to your point of interest on the map.
Note:
- MetroMap imagery can be toggled on/off to view the base map layer (if required) via the “Toggle Imagery” function (Globe icon on right panel)
- Roads (or streets) can be overlaid on top of MetroMap imagery using the “Toggle Roads” function (Road icon on right panel)
- The “Toggle Bounds” function (Grid icon on right panel) allows you to toggle on/off the blue-green map extent bounds
