With the 20220818 Release version of the MetroMap MapViewer, the Admin Layer Sharing function was introduced. This function allows admins of MetroMap account groups to share vector layers they are uploading with all other users in the group.
How can you upload external layers to MetroMap?
You can upload pre-created layers to MetroMap and access them along with imagery as well as layers created within the web app. This can be done via the “Upload a File” button within the Vector Layers panel on the left. The layer formats supported include GeoJSON, KML, KMZ (geometry) and Shapefile (zipped).
As an admin, how can you share external layers with your colleagues on MetroMap?
This can be done when uploading the layer via the “Upload a File” button within the Vector Layers panel on the left. While doing this, tick the box for "Enable this layer for all the users in your group" and complete the upload.
My colleague has uploaded and shared a vector layer on MetroMap, how do I find and add it to my MapViewer?
You can find and add shared layers on your MapViewer via the "Add a Layer" button within the Vector Layers panel. You then find the layer in the list and add it by ticking the box next to the layer and selecting "Ok".
You will need to have a MetroMap Enterprise or Teams subscription
