What is Data Hosting in MetroMap?
Data Hosting is a product offering within MetroMap that enables users to add their own imagery data to our services and platform.
We successfully host our customers' imagery, captured via drone, satellite or plane — historical or recent, bespoke or as part of other surveys — on their MetroMap account for an expanded view of their environment and AOIs.
Why does MetroMap offer this?
This is a value-added offering for larger organisations using MetroMap. While many other solution providers only make their own data available via their platforms and services, MetroMap recognises that many customers have additional imagery. By adding this imagery to our platform, customers can enhance their product experience and usability.
Often, this customer imagery is sitting on local drives, making the data poorly accessible, challenging to manage, and expensive to maintain and store. Customers have limited or no mechanisms for delivering this data to all their users, and the money invested in this imagery is not realised to its fullest potential as it cannot be accessed seamlessly with other data in spatial applications or a web map viewer.
