# Release 20260716: MapViewer User Interface enhancements and security updates

## Keyboard Shortcuts

Navigate the map more efficiently using the following keyboard shortcuts:

| Shortcut | Action |
| --- | --- |
| `+` | Zoom in the map |
| `-` | Zoom out of the map |
| `← ↑ ↓ →` | Pan the map |
| `Shift` + `>` | Move to the next available imagery capture |
| `Shift` + `<` | Move to the previous available imagery capture |
| `Shift` + `←` / `→` | Rotate the map view |
| `Shift` + `↑` / `↓` | Tilt the map view |
| `Ctrl` + `+` | Increase browser/application menu zoom* |
| `Ctrl` + `-` | Decrease browser/application menu zoom* |

> **Note:** `Ctrl` + `+` and `Ctrl` + `-` are standard browser/Windows shortcuts that change the page zoom level rather than a MetroMap-specific feature.

## Map & Layer Improvements

- Improved the **Layer Selector** by removing unavailable imagery options and making filtering more accurate.
- Users will now see a clearer message when imagery isn't available for the area currently displayed on the map.
- Improved layer loading performance.
- Updated the layer selector styling.

## Swipe Mode Enhancements

Swipe Mode has received several usability improvements, including:

- Imagery filters are now available while using Swipe Mode.
- Improved previous/next capture navigation.
- You can now zoom while interacting with the swipe divider.
- You can now share the URL while in Swipe Mode.
- Enhanced screenshots now include map information such as:
  - Selected layer name and date
  - Scale bar
  - North indicator
- Better support for smaller screens.

## Elevation Mode Improvements

- Added a confirmation prompt before leaving unsaved drawings.
- Improved the Elevation chart layout and styling.
- Refined icons and controls for a cleaner experience.

## Oblique View Improvements

- Improved scrolling behaviour and window sizing.

## Login & Navigation

We've improved how the application restores your map location after logging in.

- Opening a shared map link now returns you to the correct location and imagery after authentication.
- If your session expires, you'll be returned to your previous map location after signing in again.

## Street View

- Improved the Street View marker movement for a smoother experience.

## Security Enhancements

We've also implemented several security improvements to strengthen authentication and session management. These updates improve the overall security of the platform while maintaining a seamless user experience.
