Article summary

MetroMap allows you to quickly search for any location via the “Search Bar”. Powered by Google, the search functionality offers accurate search down to a single address or building and has a saved history of your last five searched locations for your convenience. You can also search for locations using coordinates.

Navigating within MetroMap is simple & intuitive, whether you are using a mouse / touchpad / touch screen.

  • Pan View (move around map) – hold down left mouse key and drag

  • Zoom View (zoom in & out of map) – using scroll wheel or two-finger scroll / pinch-to-zoom (for touchpad)

  • Rotate View (rotate 360 degrees within map) – hold down right mouse key and drag

Changing the date for which you are viewing imagery on MetroMap is simple. Choose via the drop down menu at the bottom right or scroll across the timeline at the bottom of your screen by dragging the scroll bar or by using the right & left arrows (this timeline shall appear once you select any date from the drop down menu). You may notice that the dates are colour-coded as follows:

  • Black – Standard MetroMap capture (3-band RGB)

  • Red – MetroMap Near Infrared capture (4-band: RGB + NIR)

  • Blue – Imagery licensed by EagleView (acquired through Aerometrex’s acquisition of Spookfish Australia Pty Ltd from parent company EagleView)
